Several months ago, I started writing this article but never finished or published it. Is anyone else familiar with procrastination? 🤷♂️ So, here I am, finally publishing this piece because I've written another one that needs to follow this. On a positive note, you'll have two articles to read, provided you're interested in another one 🫣. Okay, let's move on to the article.
Background
It's been a long time since I wrote my last blog post (more than 10 years, perhaps? 🤷♂️). As a kid, the first thing I would do when I got home from school was spend several hours reading my favorite blogs. This habit led me to start my blog and introduced me to some interesting people on the internet (Spooky, kids, please don’t take advice from me 🎃). At the time, I didn't fully appreciate the value of these connections; I was just having fun as a nerdy kid. Eventually, like everybody else, I transitioned to Twitter, Facebook, and other social media platforms and forgot about the fun we had.
So, why am I returning to blogging? There are several reasons:
Teaching Myself Programming
The primary reason is that I began teaching myself programming during the pandemic. I completed CS50X (The Introduction to Computer Science by Harvard University) last year and am currently enrolled in CS50W (Web Programming with Python and JavaScript by Harvard University). I've found that writing about what I'm learning helps me understand the concepts better, and blogging is an excellent way to do that.
Learning from Others
Blogging is not easy. It requires finding engaging topics, researching them, understanding them, and then writing about them. Developing a blogging habit will encourage me to read more about technologies and learn from others who share my interests.
Connecting with Like-minded People
One of the most wonderful aspects of blogging is that it brings together people with similar interests. When developing a new skill, this can be incredibly beneficial. These individuals can help you improve your skills, provide new ideas, and open up new opportunities.
I hope you enjoy reading my blog as much as I enjoy writing it!
